Lauer family Cabernet Sauvignon, er kulminationen på et 20 år langt projekt sat i verdenen af Robert Lauer. Druerne til denne unikke vin, kommer fra hans prisbelønnede vingård ” Ehlers Lane Estate Vineyard”. Her udvælges kun de bedste tønder fra hans 34 hektar store ejendom, for at skabe denne prisbelønnede Cabernet Sauvignon.

Vinmarken G2 er den sidst tilkommende hos Saxum, og første årgang var i 2014. Der er tale om en mark der ligger tæt på de eksisterende, som er kendt for sin store højdeforskel – selv fra ende til anden i de enkelte vinrækker.
Her er hovedsageligt plantet Grenache og Mataro, samt en mindre del af de supplerende druer, som er Tannat og Zinfandel.

James Berry Vineyard er ejet af familien Smith. Vingården ligger cirka 10 miles fra Stillehavet med en gennemsnitlig højde på 1200 fod over vandet. Den består af en række skråninger med ler, muld, der dækker over en gammel havbund, komplet med fossiler af skaller og hajtænder.

Terry Hoage Vineyard ejes og drives af Jennifer og Terry Hoage. Marken er hovedsageligt beplantet med Grenache samt Syrah, som benyttes i Saxum “Terry Hoage”.

“The 2006 Raven Series Syrah, a blend of 93% Syrah, 5% Grenache, and 2% Viognier that spends just under two years in French oak. Offering a dense purple color, gorgeous fruit, and a sweet perfume of graphite, blackberries, blueberries, charcoal, licorice, tar, and new oak, it is a dense, full-bodied, well-endowed, beautifully layered, pure Syrah that should drink well for 10-15 years.”

“The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard exhibits more chocolate, graphite, forest floor and earthy notes as well as plenty of blackberry and cassis fruit, a full-bodied mouthfeel, striking intensity, and a profound, majestic, skyscraper-like mouthfeel. It is another remarkable effort from this Beckstoffer-owned vineyard. Just so you know, if Andy Beckstoffer does make Forbes’ billionaire list, he will have made it the hard way – he will have earned it. Look for this distinctive, earthy, Graves-like Missouri Hopper to age well for 15+ years.”

“The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Missouri Hopper, which comes from another Oakville Beckstoffer Vineyard, is spectacular. Opaque purple in color, the wine offers up notes of white chocolate, blackberry and cassis, some subtle background oak, rich, foresty notes, a full-bodied, opulent texture, and terrific purity and overall harmony. It is young and tightly coiled, but this is a stunner that should evolve beautifully for 25-30 years.”

” The ever-humorous and clever Jean Hoefliger says about the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon, “It has the complexity and depth of Sigmund Freud and the integrity of Abraham Lincoln.” Perhaps my tasting notes can’t say it much better than that. It’s a prodigious Cabernet Sauvignon with notes of charcoal embers integrated with blueberry, blackberry and cassis, some lead pencil shavings, unsmoked cigar tobacco, and a massive, full-bodied mouthfeel with incredible purity, structure and intensity. Forget it for 4-5 years and drink it over the following 30+”

This is a fabulous property on the lower hillsides of the Mayacamas Mountains. A blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot aged in 100% new French oak, the 2012 is inky purple, with a gorgeous nose of lead pencil shavings, spring flowers, blackberry and blueberry fruit, cedar wood and baking spices. Dense, multi-layered, full-bodied and beautifully pure, this is a stunner to drink over the next 20-25 years. There are 760 cases.”
