Saxum G2 2016
Saxum G2 2016 Vinmarken G2 er den sidst tilkommende hos Saxum, og første årgang var i 2014. Der er tale om en mark der ligger tæt på de eksisterende, som er kendt for sin store højdeforskel – selv fra ende til anden i de enkelte vinrækker.
Her er hovedsageligt plantet Grenache og Mataro, samt en mindre del af de supplerende druer, som er Tannat og Zinfandel.
- Saxum G2 laves på 42% Grenache, 35% Mataro, 20% Tannat, 3% Zinfandel
- Vinen en har en flot lilla farve og en duft af mørke hindbær, læder, hvid peber og blodappelsin.
- Smagen er dyb, rig og i flere lag, men med en let elegance. Der er tale om en utrolig kompleks vin som er i perfekt balance
- Vinen kan nydes nu og frem til 2035 (Stort lagrings-potentiale)

Robert Parker (94-96) “I tasted a representative blend of the 2016 G2 Vineyard, a wine that’s still youthfully primary, revealing spicy aromas of cherries, plums and wild berries. On the palate, it’s full-bodied, bright and taut, with fine-grained but distinctly savory tannins that are already nicely integrated into its generous core of fruit. The blend contains 42% Grenache, 35% Mataro, fully 20% Tannat and 3% Zinfandel, and Smith observes that he was very careful in fermenting the Tannat to avoid extracting excessive structure.”
